How we get our news and if it is truthful or not?

Where do most people get their news from? Most people use social media such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook for their daily dose of the news. These companies have created algorithms that keep track of what you search to help you get results that are similar to those results over time. This also happens when someone looks up something about politics.

When someone looks something up about the left or the right side in politics the algorithm will then start to show you some similar topics in politics. You get placed in this sort of bubble of information. You only see the information you want to see. You get put in this rabbit hole in the internet and you get stuck there. Other information from the other side never reaches you and you get isolated from everything. You never have the chance to way both sides opinions or ideas.

Another way people trust news sources is if a celebrity or famous person shares some news from a source. People trust these famous people and value their opinions. We all know Instagram famous people are payed to advertise products. News companies could pay famous people to endorse their story on the news. This could turn tides in political campaigns and political agendas. This could change the way people vote. So many people trust these famous people they have never meet. How are you to know that they haven’t been payed off by some news source that just made up a story to help get a political agenda across.

People should expand their horizons when it comes to the news. You shouldn’t just trust the first thing you read. You have to understand the internet can have fake information put on it at any time. Before you assume someone did something because you read it from one news article look it up and fact check it with other sources. Be smart with what you read.

What do you make of how certain events are predicted in the Simpsons and on Johnny Bravo? To start off the company that made the cartoons have no way of predicting the future. Let’s just make that clear. Now what about Al-Qaeda they might have enjoyed watching the shows and maybe had gotten inspiration for them. They could have used the posters from the show to think of their idea to destroy the Twin Towers on 9/11. Maybe they planned for it to go down that day so the cartoons predictions would come true. All these theories are just ideas, but they could be possible.

Should social media platforms operate regardless of truth? If someone posts something that is a lie, they are just using their freedom of speech. No-one has to believe him, but he could say whatever he wanted and not be penalized unless it was hate speech. People make up dumb stories all the time and regardless of it is true or not they still make it up as a story. I don’t think there should be a big hinderance on people’s news they put out there. People just have to accept what they read. They can either take the information and use it or never think of it again.

Can the government regain its trust from the people after losing it after doing something wrong and lying about it?  Well it depends on the person, but if I speak off of my perspective, I think no one would ever trust the government again. How could you trust something that was meant to protect you but lied and did things against what the people wanted. This would make people lose instant trust in the government and I think people would freak out if our government went down like that. Some people would think of it like the end of the world.

What happened that day?

It felt like a normal day, the people of New York were grabbing their morning cup of coffee and heading to the office. Everyone was keeping to themselves while they walked the streets. Then everything changed one of the Twin Towers was struck by a plane. Everything turned to chaos, smoke was pouring out of the building. People’s screams echoed through the streets at the horrifying site. The world didn’t know think. Everyone was in shock.

The things that happened that day have wondered the minds of thousands of people. There are theories that say that the government did the attack on 9/11. Why did people think this? What made them have this idea. It felt like the government setup the attack and blamed terrorists for it. They did this to go to war to gain the ability to attack without repercussions. While they were at war, they would receive aid from other nations and money to pay for war. The government could have done this, or was it really the Al-Qaeda group?

The government has a lot of reason for them to go to war against the Al-Qaeda group. It would benefit them to great extent. All they needed was a little push to get the American people to believe that the terrorist group did it. Then they could go to war and make America a stronger nation while destroying another enemy in the process.

That is when the people found evidence that the terrorist attacks were actually them and this claim became nothing but meaningless words. The evidence produced was so disapproving of the claim was said to be impossible. People said they heard explosions inside the building they probably just heard the plane explode and they assumed that it was explosions set inside the building. Controlled demolitions are done by putting explosives at the base of the building, so the building can fall onto itself and cause minimal damage. There are even more ways to disapprove of the other theories

Truth Blog #2

I’m going to start by taking some questions from the second fishbowl and answering them. Let’s say your boyfriend see his ex at the store. He tells you a story about how the lady at the cash register was having trouble with the money in the draw. Is it a lie to not tell them that you saw them there? I believe that you aren’t lying to them. Your story had no tie with the lady at the register. Now if you talked to your ex and didn’t tell her that, then it would be a little bit more of a lie. If I had talked to my ex I would tell my girlfriend and let them know just in case. It’s not a lie if it doesn’t have any connection to the story you were trying to tell in the first place.

Is it possible for people to believe the lies they tell are actually true? Well to start off it depends on the persons mental state and how they were raised. If they’re were raised to lie a lot as a child, they could possibly believe that their lies are the truth once they tell them. He can imagine them to become reality in his mind. Once he creates the one lie and believes it, and he gets away he will be more inclined to lie to others because he got away with it.

How does your connection to people affect how you lie to them? Are you more likely to lie to strangers, or lie to keep relationships strong? Well if you lie to a stranger the odds of you seeing them again are very slim so you feel less guilty for lying to them. But when you lie to your partner do you lie to them to protect them from the hurtful truth or to hide something awful or untrustworthy. I believe you are more likely to lie to strangers than your loved one because you want to keep the trust between your partner.

My First Truth

Should the truth be told at all time, should you only tell the truth half the time, or should you tell lies until your teeth fall out of your head. This blog post is going to discuss my opinion on whether you should lie and when you should lie if you so need to.

First of all, lying can get you out of a lot of situations, but for how long? You either have to carry that lie on for the rest of your life or the truth comes out. Which most of the time it does come out in the end and you get into even more trouble. The risk to lie to someone is extremely high because it could backfire on you at any moment.

The saying “the truth will set you free” is a great saying to live by. When you tell the truth to someone the weight of the problem feels lifted off your shoulders and you just feel relieved afterwards. After you tell a lie you feel all gross and gritty. There are people who feel no remorse for people after they lie to them. They enjoy lying to people, it’s like an adrenaline rush for them.

You shouldn’t lie to the people who mean a lot to you. It hurts them even more when they find out you lied and that you couldn’t trust them with the truth. Trust is a hard thing to come by, especially after you lied once to them. But on the other hand, I think you should be able to lie in a non-harmful way. If you lie doesn’t bring any harm to anyone then I don’t see the problem with a little lie here and there. There is a difference between a hurtful lie and peaceful lie. You get to choose which one you use. Choose wisely.
